  • Ibrahim is majoring in Strategic Finance and Economics Double Major and is a junior at Minerva University. 
  • Ibrahim’s advice to campers is to, “Explore your every interest, and engage in every new experience with an open mind!” 
  • He is a huge cinema buff, and loves to talk about all sports

  • Lee has a dog named Rocky, after Rocky Mount.
  • Lee has yet to learn how to ride a bike.
  • Lee’s favorite color is yellow.

Tamara

Senior Staff Position: Arts and Crafts Director
Hometown: St. Louis

Fun Facts:

  • Tamara graduated in 2021 from Rhode Island School of Art and Design with a Bachelors in Fine Arts!
  • She loves to draw cartoons and come up with characters on the fly! 
  • She studied journalistic illustration in Italy for a month where she lived in a small village.

  • Ahava is a sophomore at University of Arizona, studying chemical engineering.
  • She just finished up an internship creating organic solar cells.
  • This is her second year as ropes director and she loves loves loves the ropes course at Camp Sabra!

Fun Facts:

  • Hana is a junior at Minerva studying Economics and Data Science. 
  • This year she did a research project with an action plan for an awareness campaign focused on the impacts of HIV stigma in Taipei, Taiwan.
  • Once as a challenge she hiked over 100km in five days while not able to pay for water or food.

Fun Facts:

  • Juan is in his last semester studying psychology at BUAP in Puebla, Mexico!
  • He loves to play the trombone and go for camping trips in Mexico!
  • His advice to campers is to, “Wear your sunscreen because the sun at Sabra is STRONG!”

  • Sameer is a rising junior at Minerva university, double majoring in Data Science and Strategic Finance. 
  • His advice to campers it to, “Embrace “Ubuntu” – the idea that “I am because we are.” Support and uplift one another to foster a positive environment of teamwork, empathy, and cooperation. These skills are essential for your future success.” 
  • During his time in South Korea, he worked on a project that aimed to address the “Gender Double-Bind” issue that women in professional workplaces face.

  • Batoor is a junior at Minerva University, studying Finance and Economics. 
  • He is also the executive director at his school’s finance society. 
  • He has camped in Taiwan with the National Taiwan University scouting club.

  • Lexi grew up in the capital city of Slovakia, where there are big pretty mountains and lots of cheese.

Fun Facts:

  • Kyron will be a junior at Minerva University, studying Computer Science.
  • He can play almost any pop song on guitar and played for the Kenyan National Orchestra for 4 years as a Lead French Hornist.
  • His advice to campers is to practice, “Kaizen – This is a Japanese compound word that means continuous improvement. No one was born an expert at anything. You are young, so be patient and consistent: what seems hard today will be easy in a few months.”

Fun Facts:

  • She grew up in Burlington, Iowa! It’s a small town on the Mississippi River with tons of character and the crookedest alley in the world!
  • At her old camp, she was in four different synchronized swimming shows! She also taught herself how to play the guitar and brought it to camp to play around the campfire.
  • She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Miami University in Ohio in May 2022 with her bachelors in History and Strategic Communication.

Julia B.

  • Julia will be a senior at the University of Nebraska in Omaha and is majoring in Psychology and Pre-Occupational Therapy.
  • During the year, she works at an elementary school as a special educational assistant.
  • This year she was in Israel and hiked the actual Masada!

  • Bella is studying psychology at the University of Ottawa.
  • She was Religious school Teacher of the Year at her synagogue where she teaches 4th graders! Bella worked as Camp Sabra’s Judaics director in 2021 and Ayelet Unit Head in 2022, and she designed and created Camp Sabra’s new Siddurs!
  • She has lived in 4 different states and 2 different countries!

  • Tristen is a junior studying Geography at the University of Missouri.
  • He practiced Jiu Jitsu for 6 months.
  • Tristen loves to travel and spent fall of 2022 studying abroad in Paris, London, Italy, Germany, Iceland, and more. His favorite memory was climbing the Eiffel Tower with his friend. It was the middle of his semester abroad and he got a chance to take in everything that had happened that semester for the first time. It was really profound because it gave him a moment to reflect on everything leading up to that trip and who he had become through all of it.

Fun Facts:

  • Eli is a rising high school junior and is excited for his last year of high school after camp. He is also  the president of his Jewish youth group region (BBYO), and went on a month long trip to Israel this summer before the second session.
  • Masada was his first year as a camper, and his favorite activity during Masada was the 3 day hike where he bonded with his counselors and fellow campers.
  • His favorite memory from camp was during Masada when he tubing with his friends during sunset time. He says ‘We got to go for a long time, and it was so much fun!’’

  • In 2022, he was a state finalist at the Kentucky state marching band competition!
  • He has been on a 2 week long trip of Peru/the Galapagos where he got to hike to Machu Picchu and take a cruise through the southern islands of the Galapagos
  • His fondest camp memories are from his Masada trip and the lifelong friends he shares from that experience.

  • Nav is a sophomore at Minerva University, studying Mathematics.

  • Before becoming Ropes staff, he had never climbed a wall before but now he can in under a minute!

  • He is a pro at juggling and is confident he can teach any kid how to juggle in less than 10 minutes.
  • His advice to campers is, “Don’t do things that your friends want to do, do things that you want to do.” This is his first summer at Sabra, but he spent many years attending other Jewish camps!

    • In the fall she will be a Sophomore at Indiana University where her major is Law & Public Policy and her minor is Spanish.
    • She is looking forward to meeting each and every one of her campers and establishing relationships with them! She is also a killer at Knockout/HORSE and will probably beat you at Connect Four.
    • Her advice to campers is ‘Try everything. Engage in all the activities, try all the food, talk to everyone in the room. You never know what/who you may end up loving and becoming friends with!’
